Call for Case Studies

BeBrit Extreme Heat Risk Project is evaluating the effectiveness of heatwave policies, strategies, and guidance in cities around the world. In doing so, we aim to gain deeper insights of the experiences and responses to heat at the local level and identify areas of improvement.

We are seeking volunteers to contribute city case studies of heating and cooling policies, guidance and interventions. In return, the case studies will be published online under the author(s) name and authors will be acknowledged in any final reporting. Authors will also be invited to the BeBrit final event (26 September 2024) in Brussels, Belgium.

Would you like to contribute a city case study? We would welcome case studies of cities in Europe (South and East in particular), North America, Central America and the Caribbean, South America, Asia, Middle East, North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Australia and Oceania. This could be a city that you live or work in, have knowledge of or interest in.

What does it entail? Compiling the case study is a desk-based activity and a case study template and guidance will be provided. We anticipate one city case study will take about 2 days, but the amount of time allowed to the task is up to the contributor (or contributors as more than one person could work together).

What is the deadline? The deadline to return the completed city case studies is 8 June 2024.

If you are interested in this opportunity, we would love to hear from you. Please complete the contact form below.
